MancunianSpring declares for Tina Louise in Tatton

image

With all the validity of Dave saying that fracking will give us cheaper gas the team at MancunianSpring have come out for Tina Louise of the Green Party who is running against George Osborne in his Tatton Cheshire constituency.

The selection was unanimous for multiple reasons.

Firstly, Tina Louise is one of the most altruistic and beautiful human beings you could ever wish to meet. She does things for the right reasons and contends that she doesn’t want to be part of the system..she wants to change the system. There’s no doubt that even if she got to Westminster she’d be campaigning to have herself put out of a job and a more socially just system replacing the one that she’d been voted into. Not only is she a fine orator she matches the talking with walking having been a frontline activist in the fight against fracking for many years and that alone would be a breath of fresh air in this age of stage managed and sterile politicians whose convictions rarely match their actions.

We’re also backing Tina Louise because of the Osborne factor. Readers of this blog will know that we have been particularly vocal in our objection to the Osborne imposition of “Devo Manc” upon the people of Greater Manchester including a Mayor that we don’t want. Short of Mancunians popping over to Knutsford to declare the place as now being administered and run by the Frank Sidebottom statue in Timperley, our backing of Tina Louise is the nearest that we can get to messing with HIS patch.

Finally, for the memory and honour of the brave battlers of Barton Moss, Salford who stood firm against Osborne’s vision of a fracking hell for the Salford & Manchester Mosses. We wouldn’t go away then and we won’t be going away any time soon..so good luck and positivity Tina Louise in Tatton

The fracking Elephant in the #GE2015 room will crush your property value

image

It’s FINALLY been figured out that folk don’t really fancy living with a frackpad cranking away at the bottom of their garden 24/7. It’s basic common sense that property prices in frackfields will collapse with balancing price increases on the safe periphery of said frackfields, even more so in the compact housing market of the UK where an equally desirable million pound property can be found just 30 miles away from a place where a poor besieged vendor is having to declare that the frackers have just rocked up. The vendor will also have to explain to his prospective purchaser that due to the passing of the Infrastructure Bill in January an Englishman’s home is no longer his castle. The government now has a legal right to frack right under your property, dispose of what it wants into the workings under your property, with you having no legal recourse to object whatsoever. Who in their right mind would take a life shaping million pound punt on something like that?

FINALLY the nations Estate Agents are figuring this out. The prestigious and well read Mortgage Finance Gazette has just headlined that “Fracking Will Hit House Values” having FINALLY surveyed Estate Agents in the frackfields…some property marketers state house value crashes of up to 70% and they hardly even touched upon the blighted people who will simply NOT be able to sell their property until the frackers go in 15/20 years and that’s IF the place isn’t a toxic wasteland with an enormous clean up bill dumped on the locals.

The market never lies.

If given a choice of a million pound dream home in the idyllic Lancastrian countryside are you going to live in North West Lancashire in the fresh air stream of the Cumbrian mountains or 25 miles South in the Fylde that’s littered with a fouling toxic industry that’s banned for being highly hazardous to human health in multiple legislatures, that will fill the quiet country lanes with chemical dripping HGV’s, cause seismic events, poison groundwater and generally not look very nice. Put it really simply, would you move your Children and family into a house built in an industrial estate?

How those like Dave, so all out for shale or like Ed, thinking that the poisonous nonsense can be regulated didn’t see the inevitable affects on house prices is astonishing especially in a land so rampantly obsessed with location location location but then again, we know that they did know don’t we.

Rewind to the laughably redacted DEFRA report into the impacts of fracking in the UK…
image
image

…the parts that they redacted like a kid let loose with a can of Coke and a black crayon were later said to have been CENSORED so as not to instantly shut down all further “debate” regarding fracking in the UK (not that there was any debate). What would provoke such a car crash response to the further debate and promotion of fracking to the average Englishman? A legally enforceable collapse in property value with no recourse whatsoever would do that so it was probably best not to stress the poor little loves about it.

If you still feel that you’re not having the wool pulled over your eyes consider just two things.

Mortgage Finance Gazette… “The Department for Energy and Climate Change is expected to auction off licence blocks to fracking firms over an area covering more than half of Britain just after the general election”…these PEDL license blocks were due to be auctioned before the election but were put back much to the laughter of the anti fracking community. One has to assume that the round was put back so as not to alarm the natives, which leads to point two.

Regardless of your opinion on whether fracking should proceed or not there can’t be any doubt that the process is highly contentious. Full scale fracking will also be nation changing for huge swathes of our land mass and perhaps most pertinently, fracking will have major consequences upon millions of English families in huge scale property value fluctuations and life changing sales disruptions. Yet fracking has barely featured in the general election #GE2015 discourse. A policy that may affect a percentage of child benefit is endlessly chewed over by the parties and main stream media whilst a policy that could wipe countless thousands if not millions from people’s property values barely gets a mention.

The reason that fracking just isn’t being talked about on a national basis by the Lib/Lab/Con UKIP establishment parties is because the process has been so thoroughly discredited on so many different levels that they know that they can’t defend the indefensible or sell a bag o shyte. You can tell just as much by what these people will talk about as by what they steer well clear of like a public space or a leader debate and they’re not talking about fracking because they know that only 19% of DEFRA poll respondents would even consider living next to a frackpad and that was before this confirmation that fracking will hammer your house value. They will definitely not want to talk about that and the proof of that pudding now has an election build up of fracking silence to clearly demonstrate it.

There’s still time to make these people accountable for their gross and intolerable decisions or at least be forced to discuss their justification for entering millions of English folk into some sickening form of post code frackfield lottery. The good people of Scotland showed us that with social media power and a awful lot of grassroots organisation, that a people can get an issue such as Trident onto the election agenda whereas it probably wouldn’t have even featured.

We’ve got just a handful of days to ask #WhereTheFrack because you can guarantee one thing. After the election every single fracking party will claim that they now have a mandate from the British people to frack and it’ll be time for you to go eyes down and look in for the great UK PEDL bingo lottery.

Bentley on Mersey…where fracking ends in England?

image

#SaveWoolstonEyes

Like a beautiful, blessed, but somewhat unruly child an anti extreme energy camp has just this second sprung into life in the most surreal place that the disgusting foul frackweirdos could have ever possibly dreamed of padding up…its at Woolston Eyes on the banks of the River Mersey right on the border between Warrington and Salford just yards away from Chris Packhams favourite SSSI Nature Reserve at?..yep, thats right…Woolston Eyes?!?, OK, so right now you’re saying WTF?!? ..get used to it baby..this is fracking..they frack exactly where they fracking want, “nature reserve”?!? frack off, who gives a duck? “pretty little birds”?!? frack them, they’re getting fracked, “Otters just returned to the water there”?!? screw those furry little frackers..they will quite literally frack anywhere…here’s the proof…they’ve opened up right next to Woolston Eyes Nature Reserve?!?

Some wholly detached freak in a suit somewhere has decided to extreme mine 2 miles down the road from Salford where iGas essentially got humiliated and drummed out of town just a year ago…pitching up next to Warrington who not only gave Salfordians unbelievably solid support at Barton Moss but who you also seriously wouldn’t want to frack with…next to the majestic River Mersey who most Scousers would want their ashes scattered into…yeah…thats exactly where I’d set up an extreme energy site just before an election where #fracking has been mentioned less than #janner and #csa

This is quite obviously going to get interesting…for further developments follow the Black Necked Grebe, one of the rare delights at #SaveWoolstonEyes <<<< can you believe this shit?!?

26th April

Popped down to the site and visited with some truly inspirational folk and properly met a former face across a Barton Moss convoy who turned out to be a year below me in my school in an obscure London overflow town that was like South Central LA without the shooters. Discovering this lead to a torrent of GTFO’s from me but I shouldn’t have been surprised, the first lad that I met at Barton Moss Community Protection Camp was born in the same hospital as me on the Isle of Wight?!? If I was on the Druid juice I’d be starting to think about guardian angels arriving on my Mosslands…everyone down at Woolston is a true guardian angel though.

So what looks like early preparations for a drill pad butts up against and borders The Mersey Way?!? Can you believe that? Imagine hiking along The Pennine Way and having to choke your way through a haze of Radon and drillpad emissions, flare stacks and roaring HGV engines. Imagine legging it all the way along The Mersey Way from Liverpool and your journey ends at a frackpad? There’s a family pub 200 yards away from the site with an outdoor kiddies play area?!? You seriously have to question what is wrong with these people who place such inherently dangerous and proven unhealthy operations in the heart of our communities and recovering environments.

The spot is a nature treasure as well, even though its under the permanently roaring M6. This bit of the old Mersey is the very first stretch after it departs the mighty Manchester Ship Canal. Its isolated, cut off almost and chock full of nest building Great Crested Grebes displaying to each other in full Summer plummage, hordes of Tufted Ducks and most importantly..recently returned Otters..this is what I mean by recovering environment.

To think that they’re even considering an extreme energy operation in such an area shows these people up for the wrong headed ecocidal maniacs that they are.

It was a gloriously sunny Spring day and some sweet video footage was taken which will be uploaded tomorrow………..

Woolston Eyes is at a point close to many Lancastrians/Northern folks hearts. Its where the graceful slopes of the West Pennines first come into view on the M6 Northbound. The first point where you 100% know that you’re in the North….
image

The watery sight of Woolston Eyes may well also be a familiar sight to Northland travellers as the unusual slithers of surprise wetland seem suspended in mid air above the Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal….
image

image

The iGas/Peel workings themselves are what looks like a standard set of bunds…
image

And turning directly around from that shot is the old Mersey herself…
image

Its an absolutely gorgeous spot flush full of wildlife. Just in a half hour stroll/filming session we recorded multiple wild fowl species including Garganey, a nest building pair of Great Crested Grebes and a whole host of chicks…
image

In the following film clip you’ll notice a footpath. Thats the Mersey Way. Woolston Eyes Nature Reserve is just along the Mersey up and above the fierce bank in view…

VIDEO FOOTAGE..IGAS/PEEL SITE DOWN TO AND ALONG THE MERSEY

The beautiful altruistic and truly heroic folk on site are an inspirational set of characters, old friends from our huge victory at Barton Moss and new friends from struggles further afield. The ethos of the camp is to “do as you want” with a strong emphasis on “if you see a job, do it” but perhaps more importantly they want to put fracking on the #GE2015 agenda where so far its been completely missing.

They request the sacrifice of your finger skin cells alone in getting the word of #SaveWoolstonEyes out there….

Saving your sacred land from fracking…the Salford way

image
It’s very hard not to declare our Salford Mosses safe from fracking today on this Earth Day as something quite remarkable and pivotal has happened on the last 3% of British Lowland Mossland in existence. A fantastic Salfordian Gentleman is dedicating a substantial building on his Mosses business complex as a Mossland education centre. This may not sound like much but it’s a part of the journey in a battle to save Salford Mosses that began when the despicable frackers iGas first concreted over land that our forefathers sweated blood over to reclaim from bog.

The first part of that journey involved Salfordians and dear friends from around the UK routinely putting their lives and liberty on the line in the daily battering through of the fracking convoys replete with their gnarly and brutally impatient riot cop escort. Folk weren’t enduring freezing forced marches and impromptu facial grinding into wintery wet concrete for financial reward or kudos but because they had a love for a land so precious that few could understand it. Folk were fighting for a land where they saw their first Barn Owl quartering a moss field or where they took endless Summer bike rides as a kid or perhaps disappeared into the embrace of a Mossland lane to avoid a spot of bother with the authorities…there were myriad reasons why Salford Mosses held a place in people’s hearts.

The second part of our fight back against fracking was the vehement assertion that there WAS a better way, not even focusing on the simple basic fact that fracking makes no economic sense whatsoever, what with it essentially being a Ponzi scheme. Rather, those opposed to fracking argued the value of what fracking would inevitably destroy. Not only are the Salford & Manchester Mosses a postage stamp piece of the last 3% of British Lowland Mossland in existence (yes, I know I’m repeating myself but that probably warrants repeating) they also contain some of our most endangered bird and wildlife species. You could at this point put a J R Ewing accent on and say “how purdy, but that ain’t oil money baby” but you’d be overlooking the distinct possibility that the Mosses could very easily qualify for a UNESCO listing on its historical value alone with Stephensons miracle railway sailing through her to the North and the engineering wonder of the Manchester Ship Canal gliding through to the South. Lancashire Wildlife Trust have recently bought pretty much the entire South West corner of the mosses and are building what will become the new Martin Mere of the North….
image

….in fact it will be better. Walking across its ancient dark soil today a Yellow Wagtail freshly returned from Africa almost blinded me with its sunflower dazzling yellow….
image

….and when Common Cranes fully return to our mosses to perform their graceful mating dance for the first time since the era of Henry VIII we’ll be beating folk away from visiting our land with a stick. Our mosses, if treated in a less Neanderthal way could be a source of sustainable income generation, local jobs forever and a unique carbon sink of an area treasured by the folk of Lancashire for generations to come rather than the toxic crime scene of a modern day 15 year “Harrying of the North” by incompetent and corrupt buffoons. Even the Normans whilst pillaging the North for 20 years raising everything to the ground would have probably baulked at destroying a Mossland carbon sink at a time when carbon in the atmosphere is a bit of a problem…they just wanted to kill EVERYTHING not kill themselves?!?

“The Natural Beauty of the Salford & Manchester Mosses”

Our Salfordian lad’s premises of which I bring you news is just half a mile along from the Lancashire Wildlife Trusts site at Little Woolden Moss. From there he’ll be running his new Mosses Community Centre to stage mosses nature walks to the Lancs Wildlife site and all over the mosses. He’ll be reaching out to the other Farmers in the area to build bird hides on their land to watch the enormous flocks of Lapwings pee wit and acrobatically display their affection for each other, to set aside wild flower borders to encourage farmland birds, bees and butterflies. He’ll be looking to run sessions for local Children to pond dip in his many pools and just generally get out and about on the moss nurturing a whole new generation of Salfordians with a love and appreciation of the natural beauty on their doorstep. Who knows what else could happen from there, community farming perhaps, renewable energy projects, maybe even Bez of the Reality Party filling the joint full of bees after we’ve completed part three of our journey in the Salfordian way to fight fracking…take their power away from them 🙂

There’s every possibility that Bez will take Hazel Blears safe Labour seat of Salford & Eccles, in fact, if you’ve got a spare Tony Benner I’d put it on the Bezster because thanks to Labours attempts to frack the living crap out of us they’ll most likely be losing a seat thought safer than Robert Mugabes ZANU PF seat in his hometown constituency. On a wider front, Lancashire and the Fylde Coast in particular are currently in open revolt over fracking, just don’t expect to see it being reported on the main stream national media. Being assaulted by fracking has also lead to a new form of politics in the North West typified by Frack Free Lancashire member and The Northern Party’s candidate MP for Blackpool North & Cleveleys planting a tree along Barton Moss Road at the site of the Barton Moss Community Protection Camp on Earth Day 2015.
image

Just over a year ago James was knocking around a grubby (although beautiful) anti fracking camp in a freezing field delivering pizzas asking what he could do to help…fast forward just over 12 months and he’s running for Parliament for a Northern secessionist party stating a clear cut and unequivocal case for a cleaner more environmentally friendly future for Lancashire.

This beautifully circuitous journey by James is also reflected by the owner of our new eco-hub on the mosses, a fella whose passion for the Salford Mosses has been proven and tested by the love, sweat and investment that he’s already put into his land. With his site becoming a kind of hippy version of the Normandy Beaches, from that “bridgehead”, combined with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust site, and in conjunction with a reinvigorated local love for the land we’ve got the complete recipe for any British community to beat the frackers. If you can just inspire a complete reconnection with your local land that may have been lost within some folk whilst harnessing the love and passion of the folk that never did lose it there’s no way on Earth that your land is getting fracked just as our land in Salford is now never ever going to get fracked……

“The welfare of the people is the highest law”….Salford

Something brutal this way comes…

image

So it’s game on for fracking 60% of the UK then, the Tories are obviously “all out for shale”, Labour believe that you can regulate the unregulate’able and unless the Greens go for a violent but carbon neutral takeover of Government there’s a high likelihood that you’ll have a fracking rig suddenly rock up in your life straight after the election.

If you’re wondering why fracking is the Elephant in the room when it comes to election issues it’s because it’s a repeatedly banned, ground shaking, toxic shitting, water polluting giant of a fracking Elephant that WILL routinely run your Children over and trash your countryside but way way more than that, fracking won’t be talked about as an election issue because of the extreme violence that will soon be visited upon poor unsuspecting English communities in order to enforce it.

Fracking won’t become part of the national election discourse even though the story of the political maelstrom that it’s caused in a major part of Lancashire would set alight an election that’s gone down in political history as one of THE most bland and lifelessly moribund election run ups ever…but the system/political elites won’t allow the nation to fully engage with fracking as they know that not only would they have to defend the indefensible, they’d also be acknowledging that you can’t fit a cigarette paper between the fracking establishment parties.

At this point what happened at Barton Moss, Salford needs revisiting not just because so few in our land actually know what happened there, but because the same will soon be happening all over England.

When the frackers attack your land somebody will resist. Somebody will get a tent out and park themselves at the fracking pad. Some places in England will have 100’s camping out with the whole of the local community getting involved….
image

Some places will be just be Mad Fred and his Jack Russell but to some extent or other every single frack site will be resisted in England.

It won’t matter though because you will be battered out of the way.
image

It won’t matter if you’re a heavily and clearly pregnant Woman, you will be dragged around and manhandled by bigass cops. It won’t matter if you’re an elderly Gent with a disability, you will be violently shoved into a ditch and have bones broken.
image

It won’t matter if you’re a slight, elegant, Nymph of a Lady you will be punched in the face and have your head ground into freezing concrete on a brutally cold Winter road.
image
image

It won’t matter that you are decorated in the defence of your Country and that you consider the anti fracking battle to be the most important battle you’ve ever fought in your life.
image

It won’t even matter if you’re a teenage girl doing a school project on fracking, you will be violently dragged away from your screaming Nan and slung in a van and treated like an animal for as long as they can possibly get away with it.
image

All of this will happen in front of livestreaming cameras but they just won’t care, they will brutalise you and arrest you for day after day after day. They’ll hold an “inquiry” into the reports of “police” brutality and find that no excessive force was used and that a few procedural things need tidying up even though all you have to do is go on YouTube and search “police brutality barton moss” and you can see hour after hour of police brutality towards the young and the old.

Surprisingly some local media outlets have taken an anti fracking stance however, mostly your local rag will take every opportunity to smear your community protection camp and the people there, calling them “out of towners”, threatening to the “locals”, drunks and folk with mental health issues……
image

……when in actual fact they’re the bravest of the brave living in medieval and barbaric conditions that you wouldn’t put a dog out in.
image

Your local BBC channel may well also put a “journalist” onto the multitude of complaints of “police” brutality and most likely he’ll also spend the day being chauffeured around by the “police” and given full access to the Rich Tea biscuits?!?! Yes, that really did happen…..

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3DUAjFkxAFU

In reality and away from the main stream media families will be giving over pots and pans, linen and bedding, local handymen will be building roadside dwellings and dropping off pallets, families will be cutting back on meals so that they can give to the camp and all the time that awesome community spirit will be tempered by brutal arrest after brutal arrest and pointless court case after pointless court case.
image

With these deranged lunatics that “lead” us putting the Infrastructure Act into law (which by the way, legally enshrines the maximisation of fossil fuel extraction breaking their other “law” limiting our carbon emissions?!?) one has to assume that if it’s now “law” that fossil fuel extraction is maximised, that to protest against fracking is therefore against the law so this writers advice would be to just stand by the roadside and look immensely sad. Of course we all know that’s not going to happen, especially in Lancashire.

This writers best guess is that fracking will continue to blight the lives of community after community until the frackers hit the sweet spot and we get an English “Bentley”. Bentley, NSW Australia, was a classic case of the oil and gas industry getting it horribly wrong. Whereas you can frack pretty much where you want up in Queensland’s BIG Country where Queenslanders are a pretty laid back bunch, the New South Welsh are a different breed entirely. The Northern Rivers area is part of their dna, they fuken LOVE their land, they were never ever going to have her fracked and they turned out in HUGE numbers to just stop the frackers in their tracks. The NSW authorities were just about to send 800 fully kitted riot cops into the Bentley camp but someone figured that it would be such a PR horror show for them that they cancelled the cops at the last minute.

England will inevitably have its own Bentley, it’s inevitable that the frackers will sooner or later pick on a fully socially connected and fully mobilised community who will absolutely point blank refuse to be fracked and at that point it’ll get super fruity.

Until then, unless the Greens or an NGO seriously up their game don’t expect fracking to make any national election debate but do expect our thoroughly captured “politicians” to take this election as a mandate from the people to frack them and definitely expect horrors to be visited upon your otherwise peaceful communities……..

Anti-Fracking Electoral Parties in England

An autonomous North England takes a huge step forward

image

A seismic shift in Northern politics is taking place and fast gaining momentum with the formation of the brand new Northern Party. The party has been formed by folk from across the political spectrum which is probably the best reflection that the old politics just isn’t working for the North and the party will be trying to rectify this by pushing for autonomy for the region including a complete reboot of democratic systems.

There’s a saying that you either do politics or you have politics done to you and it would appear that many people in the North are over having politics done to them. The most pertinent example of this is fracking with vast swathes of the trans Pennine Bowland shale formation due to be turned into a toxic frackfield with no mandate from the people whatsoever and in most cases completely against their will. The Northern Party’s policy on fracking is that it should only proceed if the people of the North want it to. This only sounds eminently simplistic and obvious because of the huge democratic deficit that people currently suffer under and is the perfect example of why there is a demand for such decisions to be taken locally rather than have a cabal of oil and gas industry captured politicians impose an “ultrahazardous” industry upon the North from a thoroughly detached Westminster even though we have Doctors screaming out for the “inherently risky” process to be banned.

This isn’t the only ongoing example of such an appalling lack of democracy bordering on totalitarianism. In November of last year Chancellor George Osborne flounced into town to inform the people of Greater Manchester that we are going to have a Mayor imposed upon us even though we decisively voted against having a Mayor in 2012 and that we would have absolutely no say in the matter this time around?!? It didn’t end there. Earlier this year we were subsequently told that the Greater Manchester NHS budget would be devolved as part of the “deal” effectively ending the “national” part of the health service. All of this has been arranged behind closed doors with minimal to no public consultation. This is precisely the kind of situation that the new Northern Party will be fighting to put an end to.

We could spend pages remarking upon the unconscionable and never ending disparities between the North and the South but they are already throughly well documented. The fact that if you happen to be born 300 miles to the South you will most likely live an extra 10 years, experience a much lesser degree of infant mortality and have orders of magnitude more infrastructure spending on your behalf. The fact that we don’t have to repeat these things is thoroughly depressing, the fact that nothing has ever been done about such a morally repugnant state of affairs, more so.

The North is now fighting back and when viewed in the context of a mass political awakening sweeping down from the Scottish highlands it could be time to flush the Xanax down the toilet as the people of the North are finally starting to “do politics”. The Scots have been asked the question regarding the Union and the answer is that it will inevitably be breaking up on the basis of Scottish voter demographics alone with older Unionists dying off every day being replaced by younger advocates of independence. Perhaps more importantly than this almost half of an entire nation who we are supposed to be in partnership and harmony with have openly and forcefully declared that they are sick and tired of the current broken model of Westminster politics…and its not just the Scots that think this.

Both Yorkshire and the North East are currently experiencing a boom in devolution movements. Now Lancashire has finally joined the party and although there will be some who may have concerns over the splitting of Northern devolution votes the most important thing is that the people of the region are now eminently more politically active and will no doubt be bright enough and definitely motivated enough to be able to thrash out a way forward and as Westminster quite literally crumbles into the Thames a new form of politics is already taking its place.

“Massive fracking contamination” at Barton Moss CENSORED

image

When news of a court reported case of massive fracking contamination in a major English city doesn’t make the light of day in the national media you know that you’re being sold a donkey by a pack of demented donkey peddlers.

There are many other things that you will also know because of this insidious cover up. You will know that you’ve been lied to about “gold standard regulations” and that fracking is such a dangerous process that no amount of regulations will ever insure its safety. With that you will also know that the very last pillar of government nonsense has crumbled adding to the rubble of the other shattered lies about fracking such as cheap gas, reduced CO2 emissions and gazillions of jobs.

The anatomy of state media silence is particularly interesting as it is often more important to note what they don’t report on rather than what they do. The fracking site in Salford is the first in Greater Manchester and one of the first in Britain. With fracking being so patently controversial in the UK the frackers will have known that the “whole world” will have been watching them. This will have been the fracking company operating at its very best!?!

With 60% of England due to be fracked the last thing that the BBC will want to be telling the nation is that, not only is fracking highly dangerous, it’s carried out by incompetents and it’ll be contaminating a field near you soon.

Whilst this degree of state censorship and media corruption will be new to many folk, it most certainly isn’t to anybody involved with the bitter and gruelling fight against fracking in Salford as these foul people now have history.

The odious BBC smears against the mass community resistance to fracking at Barton Moss began with the mind boggling claim that a bunch of peace loving Hippies attempted to down a Police helicopter?!? an accusation for which no shred of evidence was ever produced.

Further smears continued to be pumped out throughout the Winter of 2013/14 with more scurrilous and dangerous claims that Protectors were “intimidating the locals” and “antagonising the Police” ….

image

….and just to complete the circle of smear, reporting on trumped up assault charges only for them to be inevitably thrown out of court, often with Judges quite astonishingly laughing at the Police evidence.

This was by no means a single pronged smear campaign as it was also complimented by the regional BBC studio routinely peddling lies about fracking or giving studio time to a procession of stooge Professors soft soaping the process with outlandish statements attempting to downplay the industrialisation of our countryside?!

image

Whilst we have linked above to a sorry tale of state nonsense the realities at Barton Moss were heartbreakingly bleak.

The shocking levels of unreported brutality unleashed upon peaceful protectors by Greater Manchester Police left countless witnesses so disturbed that many still report post traumatic shock effects to this day. Greater Manchester Association of Trades Union Councils wrote to the GMP Police and Crime Commissioner complaining of the “brutal..and..horrendous” policing on the Moss with Solicitor Simon Pook being so appalled at the levels of Police violence and wrongful arrests that he even reported the atrocities he’d witnessed to the United Nations!?!

It wasn’t until iGas had packed up and left Salford that the true enormity of the “Gold Command” organisation that went into the smears and brutality was revealed. The Salford Star uncovered that there had been high level collusion between GMP, iGas, Peel Holdings and Salford City Council in the brutalisation of Salfordians.

image

That’s a quick potted history and one worth repeating because although its a roller coaster tale of one of the biggest, most glorious battles in British social history, involving a worst Winter on record, a community coming together in the face of Police brutality, mass false arrests and human rights violations…you most likely won’t even know that it happened due to BBC censorship by regionalisation.

This is, once again, exactly what they’ll be trying to achieve regarding the censorship of the site contamination because the problem with telling lies is that once you start you become locked into an infinite loop no matter how dangerous the situation becomes.

The surreal nature of this nefarious state of affairs was reflected in the Twitter exchange below. A BBC employee chose to completely ignore the contamination aspect of a tweet with an obfuscating reference to continuing the coverage of the trial upon its resumption in June only to turn flippant when pulled up about it…
image
image
…therefore completely side stepping any reference whatsoever to the BBC’s lack of coverage of the contamination. That’s the bizarre end product of being unable to speak honestly and freely on a certain subject but there are more sinister repercussions from a policy of censorship.

The site of the “dangerously high levels of toxic contamination” is just 75 metres from a family farmhouse, 250 metres from a Young Offenders Institute and is routinely passed by Moss families on a daily basis.
image

With this in mind the most disturbing revelation from the recent court case was the fact that although evidence of contamination had been discovered “IGAS AND PEEL HOLDINGS HAD SO FAR REFUSED ACCESS” to the site?!?

This “close your eyes and hope it goes away” business methodology is being applied by the same Peel Holdings who have just announced that they are to open an entire oil & gas division and conduct fracking across the North West.

If you live in the 60% of the UK that’s subject to a PEDL and your confidence in the fracking industry was already non existent perhaps now is the time to shift your mindset from skeptical to petrified.
