On The March

The people are on the march this Spring, with campaign groups and alternative political parties growing in numbers and purpose

Activism is the new rock n’ roll and as dis-content with Westminster and the “ruling” parties grows ever higher, a number of public events are being organised for people to get involved in

The Mancunian Spring has got off to a flying start – democracy events, “DevoManc” campaigning, gigs, International Womens Day, St Patricks Day, No TTIP campaigning, a Green Party club event, a big multi-cultural festival and War On Want chose Manchester to host their national gathering entitled “TTIP: The Fightback”, Withington Green Party candidate Lucy Bannister giving an impassioned speech and John Hilary declaring “we now need to turn social movements into political power”

Upcoming events are being announced with rapid pace and, looking further ahead, the March For The Homeless on April 15th is building into a very big event, and the traditional May Day celebrations such as The Peoples Carnival are being organised for Saturday May 2nd
